I am glad Kathryn Lasky didn't end the series. This is a great add on to any owl or wolf lovers collection of books. This book is geat and it really does describe Ezlryb's past along with his other adventures.

Fans of the Guardians will not be disappointed

Kathryn Lasky writes beautifully and has a real talent for the heroic. This book is no exception. My son has loved her books since he was in third grade (he starts seventh grade in two weeks), and he hangs on every word. This prequel is told from the point of view of Soren's great mentor, Ezylryb, and it is everything my son and I wanted it to be.

John Russell Brown is professor of Theatre at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and has taught at a variety of colleges including New York and Stanford Universities. Professor Brown has written extensively about theatre, especially about Shakespeare and contemporary theatre. He is editor of The Oxford Illustrated History of Theatre.

About the Author
John Russell Brown is Professor of Theatre at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and has taught in the past at a variety of colleges, including New York University and Stanford University. For fifteen years he was an Associate Director of the National Theatre in London. He has directed plays in many theatres, including Cincinnati Playhouse, the Empty Space in Seattle, and the Clurman Theatre in New York. His productions have also toured Poland and India. He is also the editor of The Oxford Illustrated History of Theatre (0-19-212997-X). Professor Brown has written extensively about theatre, especially Shakespeare and contemporary theatre. He lives in Ann Arbor, MI and East Sussex, England.

'A study of the “largely overlooked medical, surgical, and nursing implications” of the Spanish Civil War. Opening with a survey of prewar medicine in Spain, Coni observes that while quite up to date, the profession was not prepared for the demands of a full scale war. Shifting easily between the two sides, Coni follows with chapters addressing the response of the medical profession to the war and the problem of recruiting and training nurses (particularly given prewar they were usually nuns). There are chapters on caring for wounds, the first widespread use of blood transfusions, coping with famine and disease, the medical organization of both sides, the medical service of the International Brigades, and foreign medical support to the Nationalists. One chapter uses case studies of some campaigns to illustrate the increasing sophistication of the medical services, and is followed by one with profiles of various important individuals. The book ends with a look at the postwar impact of the wartime experience on Spain. Coni argues that despite obstacles, including political interference, each side evolved effective medical services. While he fails to discuss the broader influence of the Spanish experience on military medical in other countries, tending to see it as “overlooked,” this is an important read for anyone interested in the history of military medicine, and will also prove of value for students of the Spanish Civil War.'

Ricky Vargas is considered to be the funniest kid in the world. But how would anyone really know for sure if you've never met each and every kid in the whole wide world? Well, basically that is beside the point. Needless to say, Rick Vargas is a very funny kid. He tells hilarious jokes, pokes fun of himself and generally is well liked. But, one day Ricky became very serious. He wore a suit to school, he read the paper and wasn't funny at all during class time. It was up to all of the students to devise a plan to get Ricky cracking them up once again. Another story has Ricky preparing for the school talent contest. All of the competitors are sure he will win. But, Ricky spends his time using the jokes he would need to have for his stage presence. As a result he is wondering why no one is laughing. This three part tale of this very silly character is a quick read predominately aimed at boys. Short sentences and cartoon illustrations will have any beginner reader flipping through the pages over and over. The back of the book has jokes readers can share with friends and family as they embark on their journey to becoming the funniest kid in the world.

Este libro es de obligada lectura para todos los amantes de la literatura de género negro, policiaca o thriller. El retrato psicológico de los personajes, la impresionante selección musical que acompaña la trama (recomiendo la lista de temas en spotify o similar para entender cómo acompaña la banda sonora a la acción que se desarrolla en paralelo) y el ritmo de la novela hacen que una vez la empiezas...sea difícil dejarla...a costa de hora de sueño. Reminiscencias a Hannibal, American Psycho, Dexter con personajes que bien podrían haber salido de la pluma de Lorenzo Silva. Imprescindible para todo aquel que se haya enganchado a sagas como Millenium. Deseando que salgan las próximas dos entregas. Enhorabuena al autor novel y, por cierto, Carapocha necesita un spin off ya!!!

Grande, grande Cesar Perez Gellida, en un momento de la historia me llego muy de cerca, ya que el duo de asesinos en serie Bernando-Homolka, fue algo q me toco vivir muy de cerca, Mi hija hoy lo puede contar, pq casi fue una de las primeras victimas de Bernando, esto sucedio en Scarborough, Ontario Canada, por eso cuadno les nombrastes casi me caigo del sillon....Augusto era una combinacion de asesinos en serie, su marca eran los poemas....termine la trilogia y al final pude dormir una noche entera, puesto q hasta el final dormi en una semana un promedio de 3 horas por noche....me encanto..y la recomiendo !!!.

I Remember The 80's

When a song by Ratt or late-period Journey comes on the car radio, do you roll down the window and pump your fist in the air? If you do, you'll probably do the the same thing with this book. It's all about the good old days, back when shoulder pads were huge and journals like "October" really meant something. But unlike "October," Frech Theory never dies -- it just glistens with more and more nostalga. And like any good hard rock ballad, this book is dripping with more nostalga than a freshly glazed donut. But you were expecting this, right? It had to be done with Frenchness -- just letting it sit there and get more stale would have been so... unglazed.

Finally, everything on Candlesticks in one place

Just got this new version of the course with all of the DVDs and the printed material. I was shocked that there are 4 dvds of a full day seminar plus all of the materials. I have bought other courses that require you to log on and download the slides but it is much better to have them in the book. Great soup to nuts candlestick resource.

Back when candlesticks were considered exotic, the tendency of Steve Nison's publicists was to evoke images of "Ancient Trading Secrets of the Orient Revealed". Astute marketing at the time it seems, but makes one squirm today. In this presentation I was thus relieved to see he was NOT sitting cross-legged like a mysterious Buddha with an adoring Geisha bonging a giant gong every time he drops yet another wise Japanese saying. Instead you get a sober straight forward introduction. In large part THANKS to his career spent demystifying them, candlesticks are now mainsteam everywhere. Just as OHLC bars are used by market watchers throughout asia. Cheesy East-Meets-West HYPE is passé.

Candles in fact present the exact same info as OHLC bars. Their contribution is they often dramatize the evolving sentiment and price action more vividly. It really is that evolution that is of interest. Nison is a knowledgeable technical analyst, period. His commentary for TRADES, taking into account everything from moving averages to gaps ("windows") or Wyckoff springs and upthrusts (here "Long Shadows", Inverted Hammers atop big candle run ups etc) stand or not on their own merits, no matter what name you call the formations or your chart style of choice.

Nison has done much to reveal the light candlesticks cast. I just found this PARTICULAR DVD/Book collection over priced. Should you need a basic intro into candlesticks and see this package priced REASONABLY among the other choices, by all means consider it. The attractive BOOK that accompanies the DVD makes a decent stand alone reference. The style is succinct and it is nicely illustrated.

Nison cautions (now and then) against being seduced into premature action by signals that are unconfirmed. Do you want to enjoy sushi or BE the sushi? Steve say, "old Japanese expression: 'Just because the water is calm does not mean there are no crocodiles'." Now THAT is worth a loud gong indeed. Sail on!

Great seminar. Great candlestick primer. Lots of information. Nison shows the proper way to view and use candlesticks. I had no problem at all with the video quality and mine was VHS tapes bought through an Amazon seller for only $12.50!! What a bargain!! And you can print out the slides from this seminar at Nison's site to take notes on.
