Will Flora and Ruby ever make up?

This is really Ruby's story.
Ruby is in a real pickle. She was snooping in Min's drawres one day ("for fun" she said) when she came apon a shoe box with a rubber band around it. Ruby opened it, only to find a beautiful glass owl that had once belonged to her mother. Ruby had wanted to show it to her china dolls, so she brought it to her room. She had accidently broken it after that. Now, she is working as the, Doer Of Unpleasent Jobs, to try to earn enough money to buy the owl from a fancy jewlrey store that has just opened in town.

Meanwhile, Flora's heard what happened with the owl, and is very mad at Ruby. She says that Ruby's cheating Min and that is not right. Ruby's saying that she just wants to keep Min fron getting upset, which is a lie. She really just wants to cover up her mistake.

The girls are fighting non-stop and nobody, not Min, not Nikki and Olivia, know how to stop it. Finally, Nikki and Olivia have an idea. What is it? Will it work? These questions will be answered if you read the book!

The tenth book of the MAIN STREET series was just as good as the rest.

The economic recession has hit Camden Falls, and many of the businesses on Main Street are having tough times. Plus, Flora and Ruby are in the middle of a huge fight. Ruby destroyed something of her grandmother's and is trying to hide it. Flora thinks Ruby should fess up.

Nikki and Olivia are sick of it, since they can't hang out together because Ruby and Flora are not talking. Nikki is also looking for a dog for Mr. Pennington.

I really enjoy this series. It is not action packed, but it has a lot of heart and is smart writing. I have come to love all of the girls and the adults in their lives, and I care about what happens to them.

Best Book Ever

This last book of Ann.M.Martin was amazing. It is the author at her best. Honestly it was a best possible end to the series. Martin really brought out the characters and blended them perfectly into a great read. I loved the camping scene in the book. The way Martin writes the story really feels like it's from a child's perspective. The best thing in this book, and throughout the whole series, were those: "a peek in the windows" chapters.
After reading this book, sometimes I ride my bike throughout my neighbor hood and sunset and see the lighted rooms through the windows and imagine what those people are doing.
if you are thinking of reading this series, start at the beginning and by the end, you will be amazed.

She's campaigning to be the new queen bee and she shares Haley's powers. A spectacular face-off ensues at a talent show. Although the story ends predictably, readers will relate to both girls. The panel illustrations effectively use black space to frame the characters' often-jealous emotions. Haley's maybe boyfriend sports a spiky haircut and a London Calling T-shirt. He's a nice change from the typical prince love interest. As to be expected, the characters constantly drop pop-culture references. It's tough to miss similarities to Rosalind Wiseman's Queen Bees and Wannabes (2002) and the movie Mean Girls, but Clugston delivers a couple of twists: the artwork has a touch of manga,and Haley has psychokinetic powers. The connection between image and text is nicely balanced, and the psychokinetic element folds smoothly into the story, which speaks to self-discovery, values, and the bitter truth about the social dynamics of middle-school. Wow. Wowwowwow. This book was AWESOME!!! Totaly worth the buy.
I loved the way the superpower was worked in perfectly, withoit there having to be any "superhero" hijinks.
This needs a sequel. I mean whats Alexa gonna do next?!? And Haley's *SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!* sister??? I think it's Alexa!!! That would TOTALLY explain them both having psychokinesis!
I think my favorite part about this book was Jasper and how he ended up being Haley's friend. And Halesper!!!!! *SQUEAL!* They're so cuuuute togehtah! It was good that they were just friends with only a SLIGHT hint of love though.
I'D personally like to see more of Alexa's story. Why does she have it out for Hales?
All in all, it was a good read. Two thumbs up!

Similar to "Mean Girls"

Similar to "Mean Girls", this is a story about cliques, popularity, and how nasty girls can be. Haley Madison is moving to a new school and is determined not to be the geek she was in her old middle school. She succeeds in joining the "Bee Hive", the popular girl group at school, with only minor problems in controlling her special psychokinetic powers. But soon another new girl arrives, coincidentally with the same psychokinetic powers, and then the power struggle begins since there is only room for one new girl in the Bee Hive. The climax of the story occurs during a talent contest reminiscent of "American Idol". The book ends on a happy note and gives a hint as to why the two girls both have the same powers. A sequel is almost guaranteed. The book is in graphic novel format and reminded me more of the "Archie" comics rather than Japanese manga. The drawings are excellent; the story is full of energy and moves along at a brisk pace. There are numerous references to recent pop culture that readers will recognize. I would recommend this to those that have graphic novel collections and to middle school girls.

When I first read this book at age ten, I loved it.

The story was full of mean-girls-esque hilarity and well done artwork. The only criticism of the plot I've ever had of the book, is that it seems much more like high school than the middle school which it claims to be about.

I couldn't wait for the sequel, which the book seemed to make clear (through MANY hints) was going to happen.

But Volume 2 never came out.

Now, 7 years have passed since the book was published, its doubtful the series- excuse me- book will ever continue.

The bottom line? You should totally get Queen Bee. It's a great book for both kids and adults, and at this price, it's a steal. But be warned, don't get too attached to the characters, because you won't see them any time soon.

About the Author

With the use of technical indicators, Mark was able to warn investors of the last bear market correction that occurred in 2000, and again warns investors to be careful of the next up and coming correction. Very disappointing...little value and not useful

After reading the other reviews I was surprised to find Mark's book so weak. It is mostly a collection of poorly thought out chapters with little useful information. I wouldn't recommend it for even a cursory overview of options and strategies.

I found Mark's self promoting tone awkward. Even in the preface he states:

"... I would ask that you purchase a second or third book for the people that are closest to you."

My copy is going in the trash...it would be an embarrassment in my bookshelf and I certainly wouldn't give it to anyone.

extremely helpful in gaining clarity in options trading

I found this book so helpful in my trading because it helped me grasp the concept of volatility in options trading and explained it in such a simplistic manner. I also appreciated the way the author walked you through the trades step by step with pictures so that i could understand his thought processes behind each trade. The best part was how he would give examples of the same trade with a conservative trade approach and an agressive trade approach since i enjoy learning the agressive trading approach right away.There was a ton of valuable information in this book and I especially liked how he explained in detail how to exit the spread trades. sincerely , mary oneil

This book is a must for all investors in the stock market whether you are an option trader or stock buyer for your portfolio. It is written very clear and is very easy to understand. He takes a complicated trade and takes you thru the steps of how and what he is doing. He makes it look so easy. His indicators are explained step by step on how to use them and what they mean. I have had the pleasure of attending several of his workshops on technical indicators and trading and find himto be a very sincere and dedicated teacher of matters relating to trading and the stock market.

Loved the Action and Intrigue!

This Book would appeal to both men and women. While it is told from the the point of view of the women in the story, it has enough action and intrigue that I think it would appeal to anyone. It is definitely targeted to a Latter-day Saint audience, but it is a well-crafted story that anyone would enjoy.
Two women on a vacation abroad where they hope to visit historical sites, and also see some art work, and art history, meet two other Americans abroad at a meal in the hotel they are staying at. The two men are diametrically opposed, and their gradual uncovering of what connects the two men, and the mystery surrounding both of them is a well crafted, exciting story. There is a bit of romance, but well done, and very clean read.
The political climate that is described, and the political incident were believable, and I loved the description at the end of the story of how the press moved to a different incident when something more exciting came along! Ms. Bessey created a fun, action packed, intense story that was hard to put down.

I am so glad this story has finally got a kindle edition. I love this story set in Wales and all the amazing sights that play into the story line. A dream trip for Megan and Fran changes to danger and intrigue. At first Megan doesn't know who to trust. Then it is a race to find out what is really going on. I have read this multiple times.

Dr Philip Langton is currently a Senior Lecturer and Academic Director of e-Learning in the Faculty of Medical and Veterinary Sciences at the University of Bristol, UK. In addition to conducting research into the physiology of small arterial blood vessels, funded by the British Heart Foundation, Dr Langton is an acclaimed undergraduate and graduate teacher, contributing to Medical Sciences and Physiological Sciences programmes. Essential Guide To Reading Biomedical Research Papers - More Than A How-To

Essential Guide to Reading Biomedical Papers: Recognising and Interpreting Best Practice is a very useful book that goes beyond the title in some ways and doesn't quite approach it in others. This is not a guide to writing research papers, as some might expect. But in the process of helping people understand how to read research papers, this book covers a lot of information that would assist people who actually are conducting research. So this book really helps the reader understand various specialized research techniques. And as such, it is applicable to other scientific research areas where these techniques are used.

Areas that are covered include molecular, cell, organism and population approaches. This book focuses on the research techniques in each area that are used to produce experimental data. Even general statistics are covered. By understanding how research data is generated, readers can be better able to understand and validate the results as they are presented in the research.

This collection is geared towards recent post-graduates without extensive field experience. For those without extensive hands-on research experience, this primer covers more topics than most could employ in years of different research projects. Albeit each technique is covered at a high level, but with more than enough detail to understand how a given research project was conducted.

Each area is actually a separate research paper written by a separate person. As such, this is not a cohesive "how-to" guide but rather a collection of papers. At times it seems rather disjointed, and there is a lack of a standardized approach between the papers. This is still a very useful volume, but just know what to expect.

CONCLUSION

This is an extremely useful book that will be a valuable resource for anybody who has to read, understand and validate research papers. Each section is independent and the book lacks a cohesive unified approach. But it still covers most modern techniques. As such, it is a very good primer and I recommend it.

A good start, but needs more

Scientific papers for the biomedical audience often contain a wide array of errors, including incorrect inclusion criteria, incorrect outcome measures, poor selection of a gold standard control, and inadequate interpretation. This text explores some of the potential errors that can arise in the basic science world but does not move outside of that world. Within the text are treatises that investigate issues of basic science studies specifically within the realm of biology, but which do not go on to examine issues within the medical literature. The text is an excellent start, and perhaps the title of the book is where the problem lies: this is more of an essential guide to reading basic biologic papers rather than biomedical papers. The foreword reveals this, as it focuses on the issues of biological research, rather than on issues of biomedical research. I highly recommend this book to the basic scientist or to the student of epidemiology and statistical analysis, the latter in particular as the text reveals difficulties which can arise in the interpretation of basic science literature. But for the physician interested in exploring the inadequacies of the medical literature, I would recommend turning elsewhere.

Recommended beginner's introduction

More and more I've found myself reading about health-related research. I've discovered that it's not so much the findings that matter to an individual as it is that individual's ability to understand the research documents.

I've randomly read many of the essays compiled in this book. These points of view, taken together, cover the fundamental knowledge necessary to understand the footnotes to most medical research. These areas include nutrition, pharmaceuticals, medical procedures and more.
