About the Author
Leslie J. Sherrod is the author of three novels, Losing Hope (Urban Christian/Kensington, 2012); Secret Place (Urban Christian/Kensington, 2011); and Like Sheep Gone Astray (Grand Central Publishing, 2006), which earned a Starred Review from Booklist and was featured on AOL's Black Voices. She is also a contributor to a couple of women's devotionals in the bestselling A Cup of Comfort series (Adams Media). Another short story, "The Jericho Band," is available on Kindle. Leslie is also a social worker providing therapy to children and families in Baltimore, Maryland, where she lives with her husband and three children.

Losing Hope

What a page turning fast read! Once I started the words literally flew off the pages.
There is a lot of mystery in this well written story. Sienna St. James is a Social Worker in Baltimore, MD. She lives with her son Ramon, and has not seen her husband in years, and actually does not know if he is even alive.
One mystery flies to another when she tries to help on of Clients, Dayonna. You begin to think the girl is one big Mental case, but in some ways Sienna believes her, and begins her task to find Hope. You will love the Bible verses just popping into her head at the right time.
You will wonder if she is going to end up with the Policeman Leon, the Church Music Director Tremont, or will her husband RiChard reappear? As the book goes along, you begin to wonder what is happening, and things are not always as they appear. If you like a good mystery, this is really a book for you! Also there is another book to come!!! Enjoy!

Words can't express how much I enjoyed this book. Leslie breathes life into a complex character that jumps off the page. What a page turning fast read! Once I started the words literally flew off the pages.Sienna St. James is a Social Worker in Baltimore, MD. She lives with her son Ramon, and has not seen her husband in years, and actually does not know if he is even alive.
Once Sienna tries to help her client, Dayonna. The story begins to evolve into a mental orgasm that willl keep you on your toes. I found myself rooting for Sienna and relating to the Bible verses.
Leslie is a talented writer that knows how to pull you in, teach you, keep you on your toes, and pray for a happy ending. This is a beautifully woven story that readers will not only enjoy but also connect with the main character beyond the last page. I'm gonna follow Leslie Sherrod on her way to the top and you should too

This is my first Leslie Sherrod novel and I have to say that I enjoyed it. I was taken aback in the beginning because the book could have easily read as a paranormal or sci-fi book. Little Dayonna Diamond's demeanor sure had me on the edge of my seat. However, as I read on, thing became clearer to me.
Sienna St. James is a social worker and is struggling with how to feel about the death of her son's father. In addition, she's just been assigned a case that is closer to her heart than she ever realized. One of the children she is assigned to is Dayonna Diamond and she is challenged to find the child's supposed sister, Hope. The chase takes Sienna on a whirlwind of emotions and intrigue that ends up in a place where she never thought she'd be.
Losing Hope is the first installment of the Sienna St. James Series. I usually don't like coming into a series half way through or the second or third book and I'm so glad I caught his one first. I look forward to reading other books in this series
